Tenants FAQ
Q: Does Letsrush accept Housing Benefit tenants?A: Don't worry many of our Landlords are happy to rent their property to Housing Benefit tenants.
Q: If I see a property I like what should I do?
A: You can either email a request for us to show you the property or call to arrange it personally.
Q: After viewing a property that I like what should I do?
A: You should contact us to pay the appropriate reservation fee and provide the documents we require to stop us showing the property to anyone else.
Q: What do we charge tenants?
A: Tenants pay a £85 reservation fee for a single tenancy and £125 for a joint tenancy, then the rent after you are accepted.
Q: What does the reservation fee pay for?
A: If you are approved by our vetting process (subject to status) the reservation fee funds the Tenant Bond.
Q: What's the Tenant Bond Scheme?
A: The Tenant Bond Scheme is an insurance scheme used in place of a deposit to protect landlord against rent default or malicious damage to their property.
Q: What happens if I'm not accepted for the Tenant Bond Scheme?
A: You could provide a Guarantor, or one months rent as a deposit.
Q: Can I get help with finding a Deposit?
A: Yes in some circumstances your Deposit may be paid through Benefits if you are homeless, or under Job Seekers allowance.
Q: How do we know properties will be safe?
A: Landlords properties are maintained to standards under Peterborough Accredited Landlord Scheme (pals) before we agree to manage their property.
Q: What safe checks are done on properties?
A: Properties will have an annual Electrical and Gas Certificate, fitted Smoke Alarm/s and a Carbon Monoxide Detector.
Q: What if I have challenging credit history?
A: We understand that some prospective Tenants will have experienced financial difficulties.
Q: What information or documentation will we need to provide to Letsrush?
A: Photo ID like a Driving Licence or Passport, Bank Statements showing your name and current address, proof of income and benefits like payslips and benefit confirmation letter/statements.
