Housing Benefit Tenants and Landlords can breath a sigh of relief as David Cameron and the Government has finally realised it would be unfair and unworkable to cut Housing Benefit for the long-term unemployed.

According to George Osborne, "There are 5 Million people living on permanent out-of-work benefits.  That is a tragedy for them and fiscally unsustainable for us as a country - we can't afford it any more."

Prepayment Electricity scam

The Electricity industry body Energy UK estimates that of the three million or more people in the UK who use prepayment electricity meters, 85,000 have been sold cut price electricity credits from criminal gangs that have managed to clone prepayment meter keys.

Apparently customers were unwittingly persuaded to purchase discounted credits by door to door salesmen since the start of summer.

LHA incentive payment to end!

Currently some Local Housing Allowance (Housing Benefit) Tenants in Peterborough are able through an incentive payment to keep up to £15 per week of the surplus if the LHA Housing Benefit they receive is higher than their actual rent payment to a landlord.

Save on water rates

Whilst searching for Anglian Water's service charges I stumbled across two social tariffs I had never heard of
for vulnerable customers who have a high water usage.

The WaterSure  tariff is for metered domestic customers who may experience particular hardship because they use large amounts of water for essential purposes. WaterSure has an annual standing charge higher than our standard rate but has no charge per cubic meter.

It’s time for change!

Today Letsrush has decided to refocus its attention on the people who matter, our Landlords and Tenants. Therefore we have amended the price comparison tables by removing the other agents names.

This was in part due to an email I received from someone that said: “if you put as much effort into dealing with Landlords/tenants as you do marketing and spying on other companies then you will be appreciated by the people who matter, which is of course the Landlords and tenants.”.

Letsrush participated in an interview with Heart FM Radio to help highlight Peterborough Accredited Landlords Scheme, the housing issues in Peterborough and invited Landlords to our open evening at Peterborough Town Hall.

Letsrush Ltd hosted the open evening for private landlords at Peterborough Town Hall Chambers on Monday 9th March 2009 and presented our approach and rental strategies that help Landlords increase their rental yield.
