Letsrush participated in an interview with Heart FM Radio to help highlight Peterborough Accredited Landlords Scheme, the housing issues in Peterborough and invited Landlords to our open evening at Peterborough Town Hall.
Letsrush Ltd hosted the open evening for private landlords at Peterborough Town Hall Chambers on Monday 9th March 2009 and presented our approach and rental strategies that help Landlords increase their rental yield.
Councillor John Peach Leader of Peterborough City Council and Cabinet Member for Finance and Human Resources spoke on behalf of Councillor Graham Murphy who has been closely involved in the development of Peterborough Accredited Landlords Scheme but was unable to attend that evening on the 9th March.
In part of his speech Councillor John Peach said; “The economic downturn and its impact on people’s ability to buy their own home means that the successful growth of the privately-rented accommodation sector is very important for local people.
Over 9,000 people are currently listed on the Peterborough housing register. They may have very diverse reasons for registering, of course, with some people viewing registration as a ‘just in case’ option against the possibility that other housing plans fail to materialise.
Of more concern is the fact that about 300 people are currently in need of priority housing, a figure that reflects the national situation.
Therefore, private sector landlords and letting agents are in a position to fill an urgent need for more housing. According to some calculations, there could be as many as 2,000 empty homes in Peterborough, although this could be an over exaggeration of the facts.
Nevertheless, current market conditions make this an ideal time for owners of empty properties to consider bringing those homes back into valuable use.”
The landlords who attended liked our approach and the fact that we do not charge setup fees or tenancy renewal fees. Landlords collected a £100 voucher from Letsrush Ltd for each property, redeemable after they rent their property through our strategies. It’s a simple fee structure that allows Landlords to keep more of their rental income especially when good investment income is hard to find.
